Oslo accident and emergency outpatient clinic (Legevakten Storgata)

Legevakten is open 24/7 (even on public holidays) and is located in Storgata 40. The clinic treats most injuries and illnesses that are urgent but not life threatening. A 24 hour pharmacy is located in the same building.

Aker emergency outpatient clinic (Legevakten Aker)

The clinic at Aker is located in Trondheimsveien 235. It treats illness only, not injuries. Weekday opening hours are 16:00-22:30, weekends and bank holiday opening hours are 10:00-22:30.

When to call 116 117

If your GP is not available and the help cannot wait, or you are visiting Oslo, you can always call 116 117 for assessment. Examples of when you should call:

  • high fever – especially in children
  • moderate breathing difficulties
  • acute illness or severe deterioration
  • serious mental illness
  • suspected complications in pregnancy

Waiting time

The outpatient clinics treat urgent cases first. The degree of urgency is assessed by a nurse. The waiting time in Storgata usually increases during the afternoon and evening. If you attend due to illness and the waiting time is long, you may be asked to visit Legevakt Aker. Aker usually has a shorter waiting time between 17:00 and 20:00, on weekends between 11:00 and 20:00.
