Ice Skating in Oslo

Oslo has many places where you can skate, both in the city centre and in more suburban areas.

Spikersuppa

Spikersuppa is Oslo’s most well known skating rink, located in the middle of the city centre between the Parliament and The National Theatre. The skating rink is free to use and open for everyone. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair. Spikersuppa is easily accessible if you are using public transport, for example by taking the subway to Stortinget or Nationaltheatret.

Practical information

  • Hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed in Spikersuppa
  • The ice is prepared between 9:00 and 10:00 every day. No skating allowed while the ice is prepared
  • You can rent a pair of skates for 200 kroner in the nearby stand. You can sharpen your own skates for 200 kroner if needed
  • There is a kiosk for refreshments on the premises
