Parking ticket, towing and appeal

If you park illegally, you may receive a parking ticket. A parking ticket is either a kontrollsanksjon or parkeringsgebyr. Your vehicle may be towed or moved. Here you will find info about the parking tickets and towing, as well as how to appeal.

Have you received a kontrollsanksjon?

A kontrollsanksjon is issued in parking areas where there are conditions for parking. You can receive a kontrollsanksjon if you violate parking regulations or conditions at the site. This may happen if

  • you haven’t paid
  • you paid for the wrong vehicle
  • your parking time has expired
  • you don’t have a valid residential parking permit
  • you parked contrary to the regulations on vehicle parking
  • you have parked in a space reserved for the disabled without a valid parking permit

Rates

We currently have three rates for kontrollsanksjon.

  • 330 kroner – for parking in a free parking space with restricted time where you have not used a parking disc, registration, parking ticket, or similar
  • 660 kroner – for parking against the regulations in the parking area. Such as not paying the fee, expired ticket, or outside marked spaces
  • 990 kroner – for parking in a space reserved for people with disabilities without valid permission

You have three weeks to pay from the date the penalty was issued. If you pay late, you will be charged a 35 kroner reminder fee.

In addition to a kontrollsanksjon, your vehicle may have been towed to Inntauingsanlegget or moved to a nearby street. You can find more information about this further down this page.

Appeal kontrollsanksjon

You have the right to appeal. The deadline for appealing is 3 weeks from the date the parking ticket was issued. In this case, you will need to add an explanation to why you appeal after the deadline has passed. We will pause the payment until a decision has been made if you submit an appeal.

Have you received a parkeringsgebyr?

If you received a parkeringsgebyr, it means you parked illegally in violation of vegtrafikkloven, trafikkreglene or skiltforskriften. This may happen if you stop or park in areas where there are signs indicating no parking or stopping

  • less than 5 meters from an intersection, pedestrian crossing, or cycle crossing
  • fully or partly on a sidewalk, footpath, or cycle path
  • closer than 20 meters to an official stop sign for public transport for bus, taxi, or tram stops
  • in front of entrances or exits for vehicles
  • in a pedestrian street or living street

Rates

The parkeringsgebyr is NOK 900. You must pay within three weeks.

  • If you received parkeringsgebyr before 31 December 2025 at 23:59, the amount will increase by 50% if you do not pay by the deadline.
  • If you received it on or after 1 January 2026, late payment will result in interest charges instead.

In addition to a parkeringsgebyr, your vehicle may have been towed to Inntauingsanlegget or moved to a nearby street. You can find more information about this further down this page.

Appeal parkeringsgebyr

You have the right to appeal. The deadline for appealing is 3 weeks from the date the parking ticket was issued. You have to pay the parkeringsgebyr even though you appeal. In this case, you will need to add an explanation to why you appeal after the deadline has passed.
