The Christmas tree of 2025
This year's tree grew near Aurtjern along the forest path between Ullevålsseter and Kobberhaugen, a popular area for hikers.
The tree, which is 20 metres tall and around 60 years old, is named “Ever Oslo”. It has grown alongside tall pine trees and is beautifully set amidst blueberry bushes and heather.
This year's candidates
In 2025, three trees were nominated for this annual tradition, and over 2,000 votes were cast in an informal poll on social media. The Mayor considered both public opinion and expert advice when making the final decision.
