23 January: The social lockdown in Oslo is reinforced after detecting mutated Corona virus in Nordre Follo municipality
Press release: Oslo has had a social lockdown and very strict infection prevention rules since 9 November 2020. The social lockdown is now reinforced with a number of measures.
23. January 2021
20 January: The City Government will allow training and leisure activities for children
Press release: The levels of infection in Oslo are still serious, so the City Government will extend the social lockdown. At the same time, indoor training and leisure activities for children of kindergarten and primary school age will be allowed again.
21. January 2021
6 January: The City of Oslo extends the social lockdown of Oslo until 21st January
Press release: The City Government extends the social lockdown of Oslo, initially for two more weeks. The current prohibition of indoor leisure activities is also widened to include children of primary school age and younger. The limited activities at youth clubs’ will close down.

10 Desember: The City Government extends the social lockdown until 7th January
Press release:The City Government has approved an extension of the social lockdown in Oslo, but will allow limited numbers into youth-clubs, church services and similar faith groups, as well as Christmas events for socially disadvantaged groups.

26th November: The City Government is extending the social lockdown until 14th December
Today, the City Government has agreed to extend the social lockdown for Oslo until 14th December. At the same time, the Governing Mayor encourages more people to get tested, especially in the Grorud Valley (Groruddalen) where the levels of infection are highest.

16 November: The City Government is extending the social lockdown
Press release: Today, the City Government has approved a ban on indoor leisure activities and recreational sports for young people. At the same time, the risk level in schools is increased. Infection prevention measures in secondary schools will change from yellow to a red level of risk.

9 November: The City Government has approved social lockdown in Oslo
Press release: Oslo’s City Government ratified the social lockdown on Monday 9th November, which was announced on Friday 6th november. The lockdown came into effect at 24.00, midnight on Monday. The duration will depend on how the infection rates develop.

6 November: The City Government will close Oslo’s social arenas
Press release: Today, Oslo’s City Government has approved closure of social arenas. «The infection levels in Europe have been very serious during recent weeks, and Norway is now at the start of the second wave of Covid-19. We have a last chance to stop the pandemic with very strict measures, which the City Government has approved today», said Governing Mayor Raymond Johansen (Labour).
