5 January: All residents of Oslo between the ages of 18 and 44 can now get a booster dose at Stovner Vaccination Centre
Press release: As of Thursday, 6 January, everyone between the ages of 18 and 44 can come to the Stovner Vaccination Centre for a booster dose. This walk-in service is offered to all residents in this age group, regardless of their district.
"The vaccine is still our ticket out of this pandemic. By accepting the booster dose, you are helping to protect yourself and others. We are very pleased to be able to provide this walk-in service for even more people, and we hope this will encourage both those who are unvaccinated and those who have received the first two vaccines to come and get vaccinated. We will soon be offering a booster dose to everyone over the age of 18 and will continue to work our way down to the younger groups," says Robert Steen, Vice Mayor for Health, Ageing and Municipal Services.
Capacity at the vaccination centre in the Stovner district is good. In the weeks ahead, this service will also be provided at other vaccine centres in Oslo. For the moment, walk-in vaccines for booster doses in the other vaccination centres will only be offered to those aged 65 and older, high-risk groups over 18, pregnant women, exchange students, and healthcare personnel.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 44 and have already been given an appointment for a booster dose, we recommend that you keep your appointment. The interval between the second and third dose should be at least 4 1/2 months (20 weeks).
The City of Oslo is focused on ensuring good vaccine progress. We hope and believe that this additional service will encourage people who want the vaccine to get it earlier, rather than wait for an appointment with the rest of their age group,” says Tine Arnesen, Head of the vaccine programme for the City of Oslo.
Residents who come for walk-in vaccines are not guaranteed a vaccine on that specific date, as it will depend on available capacity at the centre. Expect some waiting time. Remember to wear a face mask and keep a safe distance when queuing up.
