The City of Oslo wants to ensure that all those who are working for the city through external contractors and suppliers have proper working conditions. We have therefore launched a campaign to encourage people to tip us about social dumping in workplaces where the city (local authority) is the client/principal.
We are interested, for example, in the working conditions of construction workers on sites where Oslo is the owner/builder (such as municipal day-care centres, schools, nursing homes, administration buildings or rental housing). Another example is working conditions for cleaning personnel employed by private contractors under contract to clean buildings owned by the City of Oslo. Other areas may also be involved.
All workers shall have proper working conditions, including appropriate pay, safety measures, lunch and rest rooms and, where relevant, adequate housing quarters at the workplace. This is laid down by Norwegian law and includes foreign nationals.
Call us on +47 800 82775 or +47 800 VARSL between 8 am and 3.30 pm if you know about cases where the rights of workers are violated by contractors and suppliers working for or delivering to the City of Oslo.
